It looked so nice and sturdy I ordered the set for my sons 4th birthday. It came today, and I was able to open it up and get a good look at it. The castle , the dolls and the furniture are all very well built. I think this will stand up for a lot of play, (and my kids are rough). My 7 year old daughter played with it for a bit and she thought it was great. I had at first looked into getting the larger version by Melissa and Doug, but am glad I chose the smaller one. The price is much cheaper, ([...]), and it already comes with a set of people, and furniture. I like that my son will be able to carry this around with him, (which he couldn't do with the larger castle). And I like that it won't take up a ton of space. Last year we got my son the wooden toy garage by Alex toys, and it was not made nearly as well as this castle is. Oh, and you dont have to put anything together! I have seen some of the other... We already have the fold and go barn, so I was right in assuming that it would be roughly the same size as that. It is a beautiful, sturdy little castle, and I am pleased with the detail and the size--small enough to carry, thanks to its design, but big enough to truly enjoy in imaginative play. Like another reviewer, I picked out several Papo figurines to go with the castle (spent more on them than the castle), and they are perfectly proportioned. If this becomes one of my son's favorites, I may eventually invest in a second fold and go castle so that each of the opposing sides can have its own fortress. Great price for a great product. Can't wait to see his face on Christmas day!
